Scott & Sons offers Lead Abatement Services and Lead Safe Work Practices.  Our Supervisors and Technicians are licensed by the State of Virginia, and are OSHA and EPA trained and certified for the lead abatement and lead safe work practices.

Lead was banned in the United States in 1977 because of the health risk it poses, but many buildings constructed between the 1940's and 1977 still contain lead-based paint. In fact, approximately 40% of US homes today contain lead-based paint. Lead is a health hazard when ingested, which can happen through hand-to-mouth contact with the lead dust that is produced by natural deterioration, repainting, or remodeling. Young children sometimes also ingest lead-based paint by eating paint chips.
